 The Thomas Davis GAA Club, in Tallaght, seeks applications for assistant bar manager for a busy bar and function area. Applicants must have 3 to 4 years of experience in the bar or restaurant trade. The Assistant Bar Manager will play a key role in supporting the efficient and effective operation of the bar facilities at our GAA club. This individual will work closely with the Bar Manager to ensure exceptional customer service, manage daily bar operations, and uphold the club's reputation as a welcoming and vibrant social hub for members, guests, and the local community.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Bar Manager in overseeing all aspects of the bar's day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and staff scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations, as well as adherence to licensing laws and club policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and engaging with patrons, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist in training and mentoring bar staff to ensure high levels of customer service are consistently delivered.
  • Collaborate with the Bar Manager to monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and restocking as needed to avoid shortages and wastage.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to track inventory levels and minimize losses.
  • Work closely with the Bar Manager to plan and execute special events, promotions, and themed nights to attract patrons and enhance the club's revenue.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling costs, including labour expenses, inventory, and waste management, to achieve budgetary goals.
  • Assist in managing daily cash handling and reconciling cash registers. Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Make certain all deliveries are checked-in correctly and documentation is correct

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a bar management or supervisory role is required (3years+).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patrons and staff.
  • Knowledge of GAA culture and familiarity with the local community is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the club's schedule.
